We are looking for an experienced, impactful, and dedicated Global Category Manager to drive the “Meetings & Events” function in Corporate Procurement to the next level.

You will report to the Director of Marketing and Meetings & Events Sourcing Department and be part of a dynamic and engaging team.About the departmentCorporate Procurement consists of around 140 employees and together with the global organisation, we manage the total external spend of DKK 27 billion annually.

We do this by building strategies and executing improvement projects to optimise the global spend related to e.g.

R&D activities, marketing services, travel, hotels, meetings, professional advisory services and IT.To do so, we collaborate with senior stakeholders across the organisation.

We work fact-based, are dedicated to collaborative problem solving and take active leadership for the initiatives we are involved in.

We invest significant resources in developing our employees through coaching, frequent feedback and by giving substantial responsibility to individuals.

Corporate Procurement is reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Novo Nordisk.The position As part of the Marketing and Meetings & Events Sourcing department, you will join a team of 13 highly talented and ambitious Category Managers, Sourcing Professionals and Analytical Professionals split between ‘Marketing’ and ‘Meetings & Events’.

The Director of the Marketing and Meetings & Events Sourcing Department is reporting directly to the Corporate Vice President heading up Corporate Procurement.The Global Meetings & Events Category is in an exciting stage with high senior management focus on the execution of identified opportunities, which also includes the allocation of additional resources creating a separate Meetings & Events sourcing unit.

As our new Global Category Manager, you will have a functional leading role in driving this unit forward.In this role, you will work proactively with key stakeholders on delivering on identified business improvement projects and at the same time execute on sourcing opportunities in our global organisation as well as drive contract negotiations with our key suppliers.

In addition, you will shape and drive the development of best-in-class category management and take functional leadership in driving projects and the sourcing unit for Meetings & Events.The job is full time, permanent, and located in the Novo Nordisk headquarter in Bagsværd, Denmark. QualificationsYou have completed a Master's degree (e.g., Business, Business Law, Engineering, or Natural Science combined with a commercial degree or experience) with strong academic results.

As Category Manager, you have 5+ years of procurement experience working in larger matrix driven organisations.Procurement and business experience within external Meetings & Events (events, hotels, travel, AV) is a clear advantage in this position.

Basic understanding of working with Meetings & Events in a pharmaceutical setting, e.g. understanding the implications of having interactions with health care professionals, is also an advantage.

In addition, having strong project management skills will be a prerequisite for your ability to deliver on the many sourcing projects and improvement opportunities in this position.For the position it is important that you take leadership naturally and have high professional expectations for yourself and your colleagues.
