Our customer is a major Metals Mining and Processing Company, operating worldwide. The Headquarters are in Zurich / Switzerland. In response of the industry dynamics and to strenghten the commercial activities worldwide, we are looking for a STRATEGIC MARKETING MANAGER reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer In this very important, newly created position you will give valuable strategic advise and support to the CCO and senior members of the Commercial team for strategic segment projects and the ongoing business. The main focus of the role is developing the regional and global industry view for all products sourced and marketed by the company with focus on zinc and lead concentrates and its alloys. The role is also accountable for the product strategy development and execution including product mix, pricing mix and customer mix. The response to the industry and industry dynamics will be bases on an strategic profit pools (SPP) methodology that will focus on sourcing, marketing and the company’s products electively via a focused segmentation process to regions, end uses, and customers. Your KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES • Develop capability to capture the necessary market, business and competitive information / intelligence that will form a base view on the industry demand and supply picture, including company’s markets share by region, by end use and by customer • Develop an SPP and motivate and promote this across the organization. Engage the sales and sourcing teams to execute on this plan that has used this methodology to target and identify key accounts, and key segments • Identify where it is necessary to promote existing and new product development, and provide direction on the technical service priorities based on the SPP plan and the marketing short and medium term plan • Develop effective strategies for the commodity and specialty metals business by region and by partner. The strategy will include detailed KA plans that involve senior members of the Commercial team, and are medium and long term focuses • Work closely with peers to identify what is coming through the assets and what is available to be placed by a detailed understanding of smelter network and operational capabilities • Work closely, and contribute to the Finance team in the areas of hedging, arbitrage, pledging, and creating optionality in both the physical and financial book that creates a significant uplift in revenue Your QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: • Master of Business Administration, Engineer Degree in Metallurgy • 15 + years of trading, supply chain or industrial minerals and marketing experience • Expert in Zinc and its market • Previous front line sales experience mandatory in industrial markets: steel, metals, commodities • Previous experience in working for zinc smelters and zinc mines • Industry involvement and participation • Understanding of global and regional issues across Asia, Europe and Americas • Fluent in English plus at least one other European language • EU passport or work permit for Switzerland Your COMPETENCIES • Understanding sales and marketing methodologies and in market experience developing and executing sales and marketing plans • Understanding frameworks to evaluate macroceconomic trends and industry structures and evolution • Clear view of the customers end use • Pragmatic strategic thinking • Understanding and appreciation of the complexities of different markets • Excellent analytical skills and an intuitive sense of potential • Ability to think and approach issues from a business perspective, bringing strong business and financial acumen to the role and using this to complement functional depth • Ability to work effectively across functions and organizational levels internally and externally • Ability to turn concepts concrete • Outstanding verbal and written skills, with the ability to present data and conclusions in an organized, succinct manner at all levels • Ability
