UWE Bristol is an ambitious university. Together, our people are working hard to advance knowledge, inspire people and transform futures. We are looking for people with the skills and ambition to help us achieve those aims. We are a well-established university, with over 27,000 students, 250,000 alumni and 3,000 staff. Students come to study with us from all over the UK, as well as from 140 different countries around the world, making this a diverse and interesting place to come and study. Bristol itself is a hub of social and cultural activity. A place with a strong, creative and fiercely independent mindset. A city with a buzzing music scene, great restaurants and interesting business ventures. It’s not surprising Bristol is consistently named as one of the best places to live and work in the UK. Job Overview The Strategy and Operations Management subject cluster seeks to appoint a Senior Lecturer in Strategy and International Business, who can contribute fully to departmental activities. Candidates should normally hold a postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline. Colleagues in the Strategy, Enterprise and International Business Field contribute to teaching across the range of the Faculty of Business and Law undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in areas of International Business, International Management and Strategic Management, and we are also currently looking to enhance our capabilities in Enterprise. Successful applicants will join a thriving community of academics engaged in a broad range of research and scholarly activities across these areas. We are seeking applicants who are committed to teaching, research and external engagement. Candidates should be able to deliver teaching and learning in at least one of the areas of Strategy, International Business or Enterprise, to support the overall delivery of modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels and achieve outstanding learning outcomes for our students. A proven ability to lead teaching in the areas of International Business or International Management will be particularly valuable. The nature of the teaching means that applicants should be confident, outgoing and comfortable working as part of a teaching team on large modules (150+ students), as well as independently on specialist modules. Applicants will also be expected to engage in research and/or scholarly/professional activity to enhance and inform the teaching design, delivery and curriculum development. Applicants will also be expected to actively lead and participate in the design, development and assessment of module(s), and take overall responsibility for the academic health and currency of the module(s)/programme and perform a visible leadership role in relation to the teaching team.
