Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:
DTU Space (National Space Institute) seeks a senior advisor in the physical geodesy research area, with special focus on advanced gravity field measurement and modeling of gravity by in-situ, airborne and satellite methods. The position include maintenance of national gravity networks and geodetic infrastructure (geoid and height systems) for Denmark, Greenland and the Faeroe Islands, and similar international advisory or survey tasks, as well as research and advice on geophysical and climate change applications of gravity and geodynamics. The DTU Space Geodynamics section carries out research and research-based advice in physical geodesy, geodynamics and cryosphere changes. The section has 14 employees, including post.docs. and ph.d. students. Major project campaigns include international projects in Greenland, Arctic Canada and Antarctica; in addition the section also has ongoing airborne campaigns in Malaysia and Africa, and participates in numerous national, ESA, EU and US-funded projects. The section also carries out fundamental geodetic tasks in Greenland, Faeroe Islands and Denmark, as part of the ongoing cooperation with the Danish Agency for Efficiency and Data Supply (SDFE) and the Danish Geodata Agency (GST). Responsibilities and tasks The senior advisor is expected – in cooperation with other scientists in the department – to carry out independent research and advisory work within the physical geodesy research area, with special focus on absolute, relative and satellite gravity measurements, including polar and international airborne gravity and magnetic surveys, use of gravity measurements for climate change detection (especially related to the Greenland GNET), and general advice and innovative developments of gravity field applications. The advisory work will include maintenance of the fundamental gravity networks of the Kingdom of Denmark, and associated maintenance of data bases and preservation for long-term utilization of data for geodynamics and national infrastructure tasks related to geoid and height systems, as well as UNCLOS applications. Participation in, and/or organizing, international geodetic airborne and absolute gravity surveys will also be a key element in the position, in close cooperation with other scientists at DTU Space and internationally. The senior advisor is also expected to contribute to teaching and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students in connection with the “Earth and Space Physics and Engineering” education line of DTU Space, within the limits of formal requirements of a senior advisor. Qualifications Candidates must •hold a PhD degree or equivalent as well as academic qualifications equivalent to those obtained by holding a position as Researcher or Postdoc. Further qualifications: •Experience with planning and carrying out polar and international field projects with airborne geophysics and/or surface gravity measurements will be an asset. Assessment In the assessment of the candidates consideration will be given to: •scientific production and research potential •innovative skills and the ability to generate new ideas •the ability to communicate at all levels such as the provision of scientific advice to public sector authorities •experience in teaching and education •the ability to promote and utilize research results • an all-round experience basis, preferably including international experience •the ability to contribute to development of internal and external cooperation For the specific position consideration will also be given to: •Documented field project experiences at participant and field leader level •Polar region experience •Experience with relative and absolute gravity measurements •Experience with national and international government advisory projects •Experience with GPS processing and applications We offer DTU offers an interesting and challenging job in an international environment focusing on education, research, sc
