The Role: Reporting to the Water Asset Planning Lead, the Regional Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist sits in the Asset Planning team which is primarily responsible for 0-5 year asset planning. The Asset Planning team plays a key role in promoting collaboration and co-ordination of planning activities across the three asset functions. This includes the roll-out of asset standards and policies and the use of common tools and shared data across the three asset functions. The Regional Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist plays a key role in this collaboration objective through leading and chairing the Regional Water Forum. The role will also support the development of asset standards and policies. The Regional Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist is responsible for 0-5 year asset planning within the specified region. This includes development of the 0-5 year capital investment plan, assessment and decision-making in relation to system capacity to support growth and significant new connection applications and assessment and decision-making in relation to capital maintenance investment in line with Irish Water asset standards and policies. The Regional Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist will play a key role in establishing and co-ordinating asset stewardship at regional level. The Regional Water Networks Asset Planning Specialist will support the development of the strategy, objective and targets of the Water Services Strategy Plan for the Region and will be responsible for undertaking water balance calculations, providing a consistent and auditable view of leakage across the Region, assessment and monitoring of supply/demand balance, night flow analysis, District Meter Area (DMA) and Pressure Managed Area (PMA) performance comparators. This analysis will inform the conservation strategy, including rehabilitation and leakage requirements for the Region.
