Salary: £60k OTE Benefits: Generous benefits package plus Company Car Path Recruitment are delighted to work in partnership with this leading supplier of bespoke Rail Plant Hire. The Role The purpose of the role is to manage existing customers and identify new business opportunities, with Rail contractors, and convert them into sales to meet the company targets for growth and profitability. Key responsibilities; • Development / maintenance of excellent customer relationships at senior rail contractor levels. • Responsibility for on site surveys, collation of technical information to prepare a brief for the internal engineering design team. • No direct staff responsibility however there is a need to liaise and coordinate staff from other areas of the business. Main Duties; • Establish and maintain key relationships with designated customers. • Identify and pursue sales leads / opportunities and prospective customers. • Plan, prepare and deliver responses to ITT / RFQ, presentations and proposals. • Communicate new product development to prospective customers. • Maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions and provide the Sales and Management Team with market activity feedback. • Produce a monthly Sales and Business Development report. • Contribute to the overall business development plan and strategy. • The position may require extensive Southern UK travel. • Negotiate and close business deals. • Maintain CRM database accurately and in a timely manner. Essential • Sales and business development experience essential, with at least 3 years in an rail engineering market or main rail contractor sector. • Excellent ability to sell and negotiate. • Closing and follow-up skills. • Strong commercial flair and the application of the highest ethical standards in all dealings and transactions. • A basic commercial understanding relating to budgetary control. • Self-driven and strong team player. • Good organisational and time-management skills. • Excellent proposal presentation skills. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues at all levels. • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timescales. Desirable • Formal education to HND or equivalent. • Knowledge and understanding of engineering and customer and market interaction gained in the Rail industry. • Experience of managing customers with Client Relationship Management (CRM) processes in place. The ideal candidate will be located in Sheffield, Worksop, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby in Ashfield, Alfreton, Heanor, Ilkeston, Arnold, Nottingham, Long Eaton, Derby, Burton upon Trent, Congleton, Kidsgrove, Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Walsall, Sutton Colddfield, Bedworth, Wigston and surrounding towns/villages.
