Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:
Mads Clausen Institute invites applications for a PhD-fellowship in quantum plasmonics. Applications are invited from candidates with a master’s degree. The position is available starting 1. September, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The SDU Center for Nano Optics http://www.sdu.dk/nano-optics at the University of Southern Denmark (Odense Campus) invites applications for several PhD fellowships within the research area of quantum plasmonics. The application deadline is August 1st 2017, and the prospective starting date is between September 2017 and February 2018. SDU Center for Nano Optics is a center of excellence with cutting-edge fundamental research activities in plasmonics and metasurfaces. The activities of the center’s two PI’s (Prof. Bozhevolnyi & Prof. Mortensen) include the theoretical and experimental explorations of light-matter interactions at the interface of classical electrodynamics and quantum physics, with extreme spatial confinement of both light fields and matter. For more information, please consult our recent perspective paper in Nanophotonics (DOI: 10.1515/nanoph-2016-0179). The center has world-class nano optics and quantum optics labs, and access to state-of-the-art nanofabrication and novel electron spectroscopy. In addition to local support, the center is supported by prestigious grants from the European Research Council (ERC Advanced Grant) and VILLUM FONDEN (VILLUM Investigator grant). For more information on possibilities for PhD projects, please contact Professor & Villum Investigator N. Asger Mortensen (email: namomci.sdu.dk, personal homepage: http://www.mortensen-lab.org ). Application, salary and conditions of employment etc. The PhD Fellowship is either a 3-year position (5+3). A 5+3 PhD Fellowship is a three-year salaried position. Enrollment and employment ends automatically by the end of the period. The holder of the fellowship is not allowed to have other paid employment during the three-year period. Employment is governed by the Protocol on PhD Research Fellows signed by the Danish Ministry of Finance and AC (the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations), Cirkulære om overenskomst for Akademikere i staten 2015. The faculty expects the applicants to have read the information on the PhD study at The Faculty of Engineering and on the general PhD work and salary conditions before applying. Applications must be submitted electronically using the link below. Attached files must be in Adobe PDF or Word format. Each box can only contain a single file of max. 10 Mb. Please read the guideline for applicants. An application must include: · Completed application form: application form for 5+3 applicants · A curriculum vitae · A letter stating your interest, motivation etc. Please attach the motivational letter to "application material" under " Research plan" · Letters of reference (Link to reference form) · Verified copies* of bachelor diploma and transcript · Verified copies* of master’s diploma and transcript (5+3) · Calculation of point grade average (Link to calculator sheet with instructions) *Please note the definition of verified: Verified official transcripts of exams in English or Danish translation and verified copy of bachelor diploma and master’s diploma - All documentation must be officially translated into English or Danish. All documents must be verified. Verified means that your home university or a public notary verifies that the copy is a true copy of the original document. Each page of the copy must be stamped with the original stamp of the verifying institution and added the text: “True copy of the original document” and signed with a blue pen.
