We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Manager at our Alfreton Plant to report directly into the Senior Engineering Manager to maximise plant availability and improve reliability by delivering proactive maintenance, through cost effective management of engineering resources and maintaining the factories infrastructure within both our Manufacturing and Packing operations. Responsibilities include; Maintain and further develop the maintenance system/asset care programme to establish a leading class structure, taking Thorntons forward in our ‘Better Never Stops’ philosophy. Monitor, evaluate and report information from the Maintenance Management systems (e.g CMMS to front line engineers and Process Managers. This will include reducing breakdown figures through continuous improvement of processes Maintain the companies plant criticality register and engage with Process Managers and stores Management to ensure the business is future proof and protect against obsolescence Identify and keep up-to-date a proactive annual maintenance plan to maximize plant availability and improve reliability, by prioritizing maintenance tasks required according to criticality of equipment. Give planned maintenance tasks to the Engineers and ensure full compliance against set guidelines Ensure planned maintenance tasks are carried out in line with the plan, safely, cost effectively and to agreed standards, without compromising food standards. Responsible for KPI reporting such as; % of completed maintenance and engineering downtime. Compile maintenance cost and update as necessary in line with budget Collate, update and archive machinery documentation and manuals Update maintenance techniques in accordance with regulatory changes and benchmark against industry and Group KPIs. Play a leading role in the recruitment and development of engineering team We are looking for an individual that has experience of working within a similar FMCG type environment, has previously experienced working with Maintenance Systems along with relevant qualifications such as a HNC or Degree.
