The Construction Team at Milton Keynes College are looking to appoint a knowledgeable professional within Electrical Installation to deliver creative and inspirational courses to the Electricians of the future.

As a Course Team Leader within Electrical, you will be working collaboratively within the team of Built Environment consisting of Bricklaying, Electrical, Painting & Decorating and Construction.

The vocational team are responsible for delivering creative and innovative sessions to students with an interest of developing a career within the demanding building trade.

You will possess an understanding of the building trade, ideally from your own practical experience, that you will be able to relate to the delivery of the course.

Students studying for a career in the electrical trade will benefit from invaluable hands-on experience and the knowledge they will need to enter the industry whilst learning in a safe and industry standard environment.

The Innovation and Technology Centre is equipped with equipment that is used within the workplace and as such allows students the opportunity to study within a practical and true to life environment.

We are keen to hear from professionals within the Construction industry who are interested to move into a career within teaching and have the industry knowledge to bring into a classroom setting.

Milton Keynes is a rapidly growing town, and as such skills gained within the Built Environment courses are in high demand in the local area.

As a successful candidate you will have;

  • A Level 3 NVQ electrical qualification
  • Teaching/training experience in a relevant discipline/ subject area and up-to-date knowledge of this
  • Have proven related experience of Construction trades, and be able to demonstrate an excellent knowledge of this industry
  • Evidence of providing high quality effective programmes
  • Be able to teach creatively, adapting to the needs of a variety of students and be willing to explore new teaching and learning strategies
  • Experience of identifying, developing and sharing resources focused on teaching and learning
