Would you like a once-in-a-career opportunity to set the commercial agenda for a cutting-edge technology solution on new markets and take the lead in positioning Grundfos as a trendsetter in water technology? Then take this chance to work for a start-up endeavour within a large corporation. You join the newly established BACMON (Bacteria Monitoring) team where we work with a fully automated bacteria monitoring solution that Grundfos is in the process of releasing to the market. The BACMON team is a small, agile constellation, and you will get the chance to set the commercial direction for our solution. In this position, you refer to Chief Innovation Manager Lars Spicker Olesen. “Healthy drinking water is crucial and what we are doing here is ground-breaking. We have effectively minimized the time it takes to measure water quality, and we are entering new markets with a new solution. Now it is up to you to help us set the commercial agenda,” says Lars. What is the job about? You will work in the interface between Grundfos Sales, Service and Marketing organizations globally and the headquarter in Denmark. Overall, you are instrumental in deciding which path we will take when introducing our solution to the market. To do so, your mantra will be: know the product, the customers and the competitors. And then, you will use this knowledge to create tangible benefits for the customer. This includes defining the optimal features and services essential for commercial success. You will: Visit customers to sell the BACMON solution and cultivate new business areas Help create road maps and strategy as well as set the agenda for roll-out to markets Define requirements for the technical area based on customer feedback and collaborate with the Product & Application Manager Take the lead in explaining launch plans, market introduction and market strategy support to Sales Publish articles, white papers and status reports about the solution and ensure that internal stakeholders understand, support and help prioritise the business and roadmap Most of your time will be spent visiting customers across Europe initially. Subsequently, we will enter other markets. Therefore, you might live in a European capital – close to an international airport to minimize your travel time. What do you need to apply? The key to success is that you are commercially savvy and have the ability to independently drive and support a new product area. To do so, ideally you have previous experience with international project sales to industries or water utilities, giving you an understanding of day-to-day challenges in the industry. Water quality understanding is a definite advantage together with a high level of abstraction. Most likely you hold a commercial education at master level combined with technical experience and understanding. You are highly customer-centric and empathic, enabling you to understand customer needs. And with your strategic flair and communication skills, you can translate customer requirements to the business. Lastly, with your entrepreneurial mindset, you walk the extra mile for the product – in true start-up style.
