A Business Manager leads a team of between 6 and 12 Employment Advisers, Employment Trainers and Recruitment Managers in the provision of services to support caseloads of jobseekers into employment. The role is responsible for managing the performance, productivity and well being of this team and supports the team through observation, coaching and development to exceed their targets; resolving escalated complaints; ensuring the maintenance of key relationships with partners and timely reporting of key performance indicators (KPI’s). A Business Manager is responsible for the teams’ strict adherence to quality targets and guidelines in accordance to the programme obligations and Reed in Partnership process. The role is predominately internally focused though this depends on the region, contract and existing partner and subcontractor relationships. A Business Manager will strictly adhere to the guidelines in accordance with the programme’s requirements and Reed in Partnership’s policies and procedures. This is not an exhaustive list and a Business Manager will be expected to carry out any other duties as may be specified by the line manager from time to time. This profile is non-contractual. People motivation, coaching and development The Business Manager ensures the smooth running and productive dynamics of the team by acting as a lynchpin between all key roles involved in the customer journey towards sustained employment. • Periodic performance management meetings with all staff and bi-annual development appraisals • Qualitative observations of team member service delivery and provision of relevant feedback • Mentoring new and experienced staff, coaching for performance and instruction as required • Identifying skills gaps and co-ordinating development actions and training interventions for the team to excel in their roles and progress further within the company • Contacting training providers internal and external to help with development • Offering technical expert support and advice for the team i.e. Better Off Calculations, advice and guidance and mock interviews • Managing absence and attendance including return to work interviews, maintenance of leave and sickness records • Providing counsel and support to staff as necessary, assisting in the management of their work-life balance • Cascading information and disseminating company briefings through clear concise written communication and a regular programme of formal and informal team meetings • Supporting recruitment of your team and across the wider business as a trained internal assessor at our regular programme of assessment centres • Supporting new staff through specific actions identified in their role specific induction programme, and managing them to achieve early productivity success and pass probation • Managing underperformance supportively but rigorously, working in partnership with the HR team to progress persistent underperformance through the disciplinary process Performance Management and delivery A Business Manager manages the team to focus on all elements of the customer journey to sustainable employment, identifying and overcoming blocks, obstacle or inefficiencies in the process through observation and analysis, ensuring that performance targets are exceeded. • Daily,Weekly and Monthly monitoring and interrogation of a sophisticated range of KPI reports • Close management of the Profit and Loss, forecasting, cost control, performance against budget and contractual specification • Utilising Management Information tools to monitor performance, trends and best practice • Planning and ensuring that Outreach and liaison with referral sources occurs to ensure sufficient throughput of new customers • Reviewing vacancies and wo
