Associate Consultant with International Public Affairs knowledge required. The Associate Consultant plays an essential role in the day-to-day running of special Teneo PSG accounts and their ongoing account development. You are responsible for design and implementation of public relations tactics, campaigns, and achieving results for clients as agreed with your manager, specialising in Irish and international public affairs. We are a service industry. Our clients are paying us for a service which is our advice, our creativity, our media contacts and our insights. As an Associate Consultant, you need to demonstrate the following when dealing with clients: • Show strong understanding of your client’s business. Get to know their industry and the challenges and opportunities for their business and sector • Demonstrate impeccable attention to detail in all dealings with your clients. Proof read all documents before showing to your manager. Before sending anything to the client, ensure immaculate layout and presentation - even when the work has been originated by someone else • Be polite and professional in all dealings with your clients • Be responsible for day-to-day management of client campaigns and build a trusted relationship with your client – get to know them as a person and build up a rapport with them to inspire client loyalty and trust • Be responsible for ensuring and/or preparing accurate and well-presented agendas, progress reports and contact reports within 24 hours • Demonstrate excellent writing skills with material presented to clients in a timely manner and reflecting a clear understanding of your client’s business • Understand the principles of media evaluation and the importance of return on investment for clients • Proactively identify new opportunities for client coverage and new opportunities for project work with clients • Proactively identify potential new clients A successful Associate Consultant will be able to do the following: • Showcase an excellent understanding of the media landscape in Ireland and know which publications and journalists are relevant for your clients including audience/readership/listenership details • Demonstrate the ability to forge and exploit strategic press relationships through strategic and creative work with all sectors of the media • Attend regular media facing/networking events to build up your own profile and media contacts • Fully understand deadlines, editorial agendas and general etiquette of handling the media, including rules of engagement regarding on and off record comments, briefings and media complaints handling, e.g. BAI rules • Demonstrate consistent and proven success at written and verbal ‘selling-in’, including to the local, national media, trade media and sector specific media • Demonstrate proficiency in writing of PR & PA materials such as press releases, promotions and competitions, fact sheets and photo captions • Maintain up to date features lists for your client
