Welder Fabricator. West. Irlanda

Welder/Fabricator/Fitter required for our expanding manufacturing team that specialises in high quality steel fabrication for structural projects, gates / stairs and bespoke products.  

With a state of the art fabrication workshop in Annaghdown, Co. Galway; AW Engineering are looking to appoint a qualified, highly skilled welder who will work in both the workshop and on customer sites installing projects.  

Responsibilities:

•    Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to understand project requirements and specifications, and complete tasks to client needs.  

•    Perform welding tasks using various techniques such as MIG, TIG and stick welding with precision and attention to detail.

•    Repairing products and equipment, ensuring plan of work created with detailed measuring, source materials and / or tools to complete work.

•    Adhere to regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment by using various specialised equipment and tools; fork lifts and overhead gantry cranes.  Follow proper procedures for completing tasks in confined spaces and at elevated heights.

Education and Skills:

•    Senior Trades certification in Welding / Engineering / Metal Fabrication

•    Five years experience in workshop machinery with TIG, MIG & SMAW welding experience

•    Qualified fork lift driver & overhead crane use with clean safety record

•    Ability to read and interpret drawings across a variety of projects which require precision work and attention to detail

•    Capable of carrying out physical work, with a focus on health and safety

•    Good customer engagement skills with experience of installations and site work – must speak and read English fluently

•    Problem solver, trouble-shooter with great initiative and teamwork skills
