We are currently recruiting a UAV Technical Manager to join our Survey & UAV Department. The successful applicant will be reporting to the Survey & UAV Head of Department, and will be based out of our Kilcullen head office, with the option for hybrid working.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and schedule UAV survey projects, taking into account client requirements, budgets, and timelines.
Manage project resources, including UAV equipment, personnel, and software tools.
Lead and supervise a team of UAV operators and data analysts.
Provide training and mentorship to ensure high-quality data acquisition and processing.
Promoting a safety culture and ensuring any learnings from near misses or accidents are pre-empted or prevented going forward
Liaise with relevant authorities to obtain necessary permits and approvals.
Stay current with UAV technology advancements, sensor systems, and data processing software.
Advise on the selection of appropriate UAV platforms and sensors for specific projects.
Reviewing and optimizing estimated workflows for each service proposal
Client relationship Management Support
Consulting with client Representatives – maintaining & earning trust of clients through our expertise and knowledge.
Ensuring alignment with MGS Vision and Values – Respect, Innovation, Community, and Integrity
Supporting and implementation of our “Geo-Cert” Platform
Ensuring Client expectations are met with MGS validated output and care
Consulting and supporting clients on Geospatial best practice and Methodology
Providing leadership to clients, staff and department in technology and technical related questions
Discovering and implementing innovative technologies that yield competitive advantage
Evaluating and implementing new workflows; Help department use technology profitably
Facilitating business growth by collaborating with clients as well as business partners (suppliers, subcontractors, JV partners, technology providers, etc.)
Requirements
Geographic Information Science bachelor’s degree level
A minimum of 3+ years’ experience in the geospatial/surveying industry.
Proven experience in managing UAV projects, including planning, execution and Client interaction
Strong knowledge of UAV technology, sensor systems, and data processing software.
Excellent leadership and team management skills
Able to comply with deadlines and delivery dates.
Ability to communicate technical information effectively
Exceptional problem solving and decision-making abilities.
Commercially savvy with an exceptional understanding of financials and deadlines.
Possess a full clean Irish/EU driving licence (manual transmission).
Willing to travel to project sites as required.
The right to work in Ireland.
Skills that enable collaboration and communication, including the use of Microsoft Office & AutoCAD suites
