Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician £15,878 in Year 1; £17,012 in Year 2 fixed term contract Sep 2017- Aug 2019 Applications are invited from individuals who wish to train for a BTEC Level 3 Professional Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences and an NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services – Apprenticeship model to qualify as a Pharmacy Technician. You will spend four days a week gaining work experience within the hospital and the remaining day studying the underpinning knowledge at Manchester College commencing September 2016. You should ideally possess a minimum of 5 GCSE passes at Grade C or above including English, Mathematics and Chemistry or dual Science award accepted; or alternatively relevant experience as an Assistant Technical Officer whilst only possessing a Pharmacy NVQ2 will be considered The pharmacy service is provided on 7 days per week and the successful applicant will be expected to work weekends on a planned rotation. Experience will be gained in all aspects of hospital pharmacy technical services including outpatient and inpatient dispensing, patient counseling, distribution and control of ward medicines stocks; and aseptic dispensing This is a developmental opportunity for a candidate, who is at pre-graduate level. Please note that due to national apprenticeship eligibility criteria; this post is NOT open to applicants who have a level 4 qualification or above i.e. a degree in ANY subject area. This post is also subject to the government’s 24 Advanced Learning Loan, which requires successful applicants over the age of 24 to secure an advance loan to contribute to payment of the course.
