Department: Women’s Health/Gynaecological Oncology and Colposcopy Service Duration: One year maternity leave cover fixed term contract UCLH is the dedicated Gynaecological Oncology Specialist Centre in North London and also provides a dedicated specialised Colposcopy service. The development of a new dedicated Macmillan Cancer Centre in partnership with UCLH has enhanced the environment and positive experience for both our patients and staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our team for one year Maternity leave cover. This successful post holder will work closely with experienced Gynaecological Cancer Specialist Nurses CNS and Specialist Colposcopy Nurses Team. Appropriate teaching, training and supervision will be provided by the CNS team who are the Keyworkers for the patients. This is an ideal developmental opportunity for a Band 5 Staff Nurse, and on-going support and supervision will be provided to enable you to improve our patient’s experience throughout their pathway. Based at UCLH you will facilitate women’s journeys through their Gynaecological Cancer and Colposcopy Treatments. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, and with the support of the CNS team, manage a caseload of patients throughout their care pathway. You will be working with a dedicated team of Clinical Nurse Specialists to ensure that the highest level of care is provided to all women within the Colposcopy and Gynaecological Service. This pathway starts from pre-cancerous changes or suspicion or actual diagnosis of a Gynaecological Cancer, throughout all treatment modalities. You will be expected to work both in the inpatient and outpatient settings. We also provide telephone support and care related to recovery following treatment. This exciting opportunity will allow you to develop your nursing skills and experience within the specialist fields of Colposcopy and Gynaecological Oncology whilst working alongside a very supportive, highly experienced and motivated teams. You will be required to have at least 1 years post qualification experience in women’s’ Health or/and oncology and special interest in Gynaecology, Colposcopy or Cancer Nursing.
