Speech & Language Therapist - Dysphagia Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Dysphagia Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to work within a specialist college that is based in Harrogate.

The specialist college you will be working in supports multiple students ages 16-25 .

Students would have mild dysphagia (mild oral/pharyngeal dysphagia with incoordination but no clinical evidence of aspiration), through the tiers to tier four where students have Aphagia (where they are not safe to swallow, with clinical signs of aspiration or are at high risk of aspiration/choking with weak oral movement/co-ordination and inconsistent swallow reflex).

The students will also have other varying needs such as motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and muscular dystrophy.

Requirements of this role: • We are looking for a professionally qualified Speech and Language Therapist with a post graduate certificate in Dysphagia • You will be able to get to the Harrogate area to accommodate this role You will be involved in: • Delivering programmes of treatments • Facilitating initial therapy assessments • Overseeing and supervising treatments • Training colleagues in carrying out particular therapy programmes Details of this role: • Location: Harrogate, North Yorkshire • This is a consultancy based role, with ££ rate to be negotiated (options to work self-employed or via PAYE scheme) If this position is of interest to you, or perhaps to someone in your network, we would love to hear from you.
