We are looking for experienced, well organised, compassionate sonographers with a proven ability to work autonomously, to join our friendly, multidisciplinary ultrasound team at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust.

Potential candidates should have: Suitable graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound (PgC, PgD, MSc) Current professional registration (HCPC, NMC) FMF Nuchal Accreditation Experience of working within the NHS setting and ultrasound departments The Department Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS trust offers a diverse working environment with out-patients, maternity, community sites and a sonographer led in-patient department which is excellent for autonomous practise and experiencing a range of acute pathology.

The sonographers are encouraged to rotate through all areas and offer a comprehensive range of ultrasound examinations including abdominal, gynaecological and obstetric.

All our rooms are currently equipped with top of the range Canon ultrasound machines, all of which are on a rolling replacement programme.

In addition, all our obstetric rooms are equipped with slave monitors for patients.

As a department we love to innovate, develop and improve, and we know the importance of being on the right career pathway.

We offer a strong and successful training programme for our student sonographers and encourage extended practise for those joining us with experience.

We have a dynamic team which includes sonographers conducting research to PhD level, and extending their roles within GI, MSK and Head & Neck ultrasound.

Clinical development is encouraged and we run regular discrepancy and CPD meetings led by sonographers.
