We have a vacancy supporting adults for a full-time Senior Support worker in our new Lifelong Learning service in Queens Park, Chesterfield. This position is for 38 hours per week. About the role The service is situated within the grounds of Queens Park in Chesterfield and has been open since June 2017. This Lifelong Learning service is open Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4pm and provides support for 28 people aged between 25 - 80 years old. You will play a key part in assisting the people we support to live as independently as possible. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. The timetable offers art & crafts, leisure, rejuvenation sessions, walking, gardening, cooking and accessing activities within the community. The people who attend the service have moderate support needs, and there is some personal care required. Some people may also have behaviours of concern but you will be given full training to deal with this. As a Senior, you will develop rotas and deputise for the Frontline Manager. You will work closely with the staff team, encouraging them and identifying training needs, whether formal or by way of day-to-day coaching and reflection. This could be a stepping stone to further opportunities within MacIntyre. What we need from you You will need some experience working with vulnerable people, ideally those with learning disabilities. Perhaps you have been a Support Worker or Care Worker and are now looking to step up to a more senior role with more responsibilities and more challenges. You will need to be flexible and organised, with a positive approach. It is essential for these positions that you hold a full manual driving licence which allows you to drive in the UK, as you will be required to drive service vehicles.
