Arla Foods Ingredients (AFI) is an independent company within the Arla Foods Group. You will be a part of Functional Solutions which is one of five business units. We have global responsibility for marketing and selling innovative whey ingredients solutions to the food industry. You will be based in Aarhus, Denmark and you will report directly to the Business Unit Director. Play a key role in concept development As Senior Sales Development Manager in the business unit Functional Solutions, you will take a high profile role, being responsible for our sales development activities within the food industry. Moreover, your technical background and a commercial experience in a combination with your self-driven personality and structured way of working would give you a possibility to be responsible for all activities outside daily sales operations. Furthermore, you will be a part of the Business Unit Management Team together with the Sales Manager and the Business Unit Director. It is the responsibility of the Senior Sales Development Manager to identify and manage a st heterogeneous set of activities that will grow and optimize our business, namely to develop business cases for R&D projects, to be business unit responsible for concept development (i.e. understanding global market trends or customer challenges and translating them into new concepts). Last but not least to be the technical spearhead for the business unit in challenging our teams within Application and R&D. You will also run projects on business unit strategy and product portfolio drafting. All in all, a mix of relatively complex and high impact activities will verify your technical and commercial competences. Strong technical understanding and commercial mind-set You either have a commercial background with a well-founded technical interest or a technical background as a dairy or food technician. Food ingredients experience combined with a couple of years of commercial experience would be an advantage. A technical background is a strong favor but you need business acumen to give a go to your technical understanding. In fact, you should be comfortable with numbers, working in spreadsheets and PowerPoint. You should be self-driven, structured and people-oriented person in order to deliver results working together with colleagues from all functions starting with R&D finishing in Finance. Traveling will be relatively limited; however, you will communicate with colleagues across the globe. On that reason an English skills and cultural awareness is also of great necessity.
