Annual salary: £30,000 Hours per week: 37.5 Our Senior Occupational Therapist role involves: Managing patients using evidence based and patient centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions, which provide patients with the confidence, skills and coping strategies required for independent living. Supporting the Lead Occupational Therapist with managing the Occupational Therapy Service. Managing and co-ordinating the implementation of individual treatment plans for occupational therapy services ensuring treatments, activities and interventions are delivered through effective application and communication by the occupational therapists. Receiving and responding promptly to new admissions, undertaking patient assessments to identify and prioritise patient needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions either on an individual or group basis. The OT team follows MOHO Model of Human Occupation. Ensuring the team maintains accurate and timely records detailing each patient’s rehabilitation / progress. Taking the lead within the Occupational Therapy Team in the absence of the Lead Occupational Therapist. Monitoring the activity budget and takes a lead on resource purchases. Ensuring the effective and efficient management of more junior staff. Maintaining and developing close working relationships with professional and clinical colleagues within the multi-disciplinary team, ensuring clinical practice is in line with Elysium policies and procedures and complies with statutory regulations and quality standards. Contributing to business growth by actively promoting Elysium therapy services in line with the local units’ business plan. Maintaining effective communication links with patients, relatives, carers, and purchasers throughout the patient’s rehabilitation. Contributing towards service evaluation and development. To be successful as a Senior Occupational Therapist, you’ll need: BSc Hons in Occupational Therapy together with full BAOT membership and HPC registration. At least 2 years clinical experience, including some experience of working within a secure setting.
