The department The Medical & Scientific Affairs Department of Novo Nordisk Region Europe based in Copenhagen is looking for a Medical Advisor to report to the VP of Medical & Scientific Affairs. The Medical Advisor contributes to the development and implementation of the Region Europe global medical strategy and provides medical input to launch preparation and brand plans, ensuring support of the life cycle for the assigned products. You also provide medical guidance of affiliates and actively participate in activities to continuously enhance Medical Affairs excellence across Europe. The job In this position you have a major impact on influencing the development and implementation of Medical Affairs strategic plans and tactics across Europe, in alignment with the Global Medical Affairs and Region Europe strategic objectives. You provide cross-functional therapeutic and product expertise internally and in particular to the Region Europe Marketing and Market Access teams. Through better practice sharing, internal medical trainings and analysis of clinical insights/competitive publications, you ensure strong knowledge of the company products, competitors’ products and environmental information relevant to business across the Region Europe affiliates. Further, you will assess opportunities for and propose clinical and real world evidence studies to support Market Access in Region Europe. By collaborating with the field-based medical affairs teams you will develop scientific tools required for them to successfully perform in their jobs. You will maintain up to date knowledge of clinical practices in key Region Europe affiliates in order to provide input to Global Medical Affairs and other cross-functional strategic groups. By establishing an ongoing liaison with key opinion leaders and healthcare organisations you ensure that the significant developments in diabetes and obesity are identified and monitored. Qualifications: You must hold a Medical Doctor’s degree and have experience in diabetes or cardiovascular/metabolism therapeutic areas. For this position excellent oral presentation skills and English proficiency (both oral and written) are required. You have 4+ years of successful experience in managing Medical Affairs tactics for various brands in the pharmaceutical industry, including implementation of medical education events, development of medical education materials and publications, advisory boards. Active involvement in Medical Affairs strategy development and successful performance/change management will be seen as an advantage. You have proven experience in management of clinical trials/observational studies; including protocol development and the ability to interact authoritatively with key internal and external stakeholders. You have solid experience with cross-functional teams and matrix organisations. You provide a high level proficiency in project management. You are nevertheless to say a strong communicator and have excellent negotiating skills. You enjoy working across geographic and cultural boundaries. Your experience within the European/business area office is preferred but not mandatory. You should expect around 30-40 travel days per year.
