Amazon’s mission is to be the earth’s most customer-centric company. We are looking for a smart, ambitious and strategic oriented individual to join Amazon’s Global HR Risk & Compliance team. As a member of the team, you will work with your manager and team members to build and execute a new Europe and Mideast focused benefits risk and compliance function. Your team will engage with Amazon’s legal, product, business, technology and operational teams to design, implement, administer and test the organization’s global health, welfare and other related employee benefit programs.

A typical day for you includes consulting on a variety of benefit strategies along with managing projects that use data and advising skills. You will monitor global benefit obligations and work with cross-organizational teams to operationalize new benefit programs; monitor end-to-end benefit processes; design and monitor compliance controls; and identify process improvements to enhance the employee experience.

The ideal candidate for this role should be able to work independently, be innovative, and seek positive change in a dynamic environment. We are seeking someone with a demonstrated history of successfully owning and managing complex problems and engaging with cross-functional teams, and numerous stakeholders, directly and through influence. Strong project management skills plus a proven ability to help design and implement benefit related tools/processes are critical to the success in this role.

Specific responsibilities will include:

· Earn and maintain business partners’ trust as a thought leader.

· Monitor jurisdictional regulations, evaluate risks and recommend actions.

· Consult with legal, HR policy, process, business, and system owners to design and deploy risk-based controls.

· Monitor known and emerging risks, measure internal control effectiveness, and work with business/support teams to develop action items to remediate identified risks.

· Direct on-site and virtual compliance audits, draft audit reports, results, and remediation plans.

· Generate written narratives and statistical analysis on emerging/active risk topics for senior leaders that educate and facilitate discussions including the potential business impact(s) and range of risk- based recommendations.

· Participate in training on control programs and policy.

· Able to travel up to 20%, as necessary.


· 6+ years professional or military experience in HR, compliance and risk management.·

· Experienced with employee benefits administration.

· Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.

· Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.

· Demonstrated effectiveness in written and verbal communications.


· Advanced degree in a related area (MBA or JD).

· Applicable Employee Benefit or other risk/compliance certification (e.g., IRM).

· Experienced working with HR data and reports.

· Experienced building cross-functional partnerships and influencing cross-organizational leadership without administrative ownership.
