An unusual retail position covering a mixture of office related duties, direct retail customer service (to businesses and the public) and sales / support to both UK and international customers.

This varied role involves dealing with the packing and worldwide shipping of art & antiques, providing printing, document finishing and copying services to S.

Yorkshire businesses and consumers and the general administration of our mail box rental service.

The successful candidate will also be trained to advise on complex international shipping and freight options, advise customers on the best delivery options for merchandise, personal effects and express documents as well as operate the various IT programs supporting those activities.

Monday to Friday 1.30 to 5.30pm.

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POST To provide world-class customer service through sale of services and products and to determine the best procedure/service to meet the customer’s needs KEY ACTIVITIES  Receive, sort and place mail in mailboxes on a daily basis  Record sales on cash register and process credit card transactions  Receive and process packages for shipping, identifying most appropriate courier service  Provide packing services for shipping contents  Track documents and packages using manifest system and process claims  Present and sell all services through centre displays, face-to-face and on the telephone  Work closely with approved suppliers to assist in maintaining stock orders and displays in the centre  Determine customer requirements for document and finishing services  Operate fax, photocopy, printing and finishing services equipment  Transferring information from memory stick or disc to print, making simple adjustments to document (where required) and virus scanning  Identify customer needs for business cards, letterhead, rubber stamps and place orders with appropriate suppliers  Talk with customers to provide solutions to best serve their needs through cross-selling and up-selling  Talk with customers in order to provide leads for the centre manager to take up  Efficiently and professionally serve the customers needs  Support the centre owner & manager in maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organisation around the centre PERSON SPECIFICATION EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS  Experience in the capacity of Sales or Customer Service  Familiar with small business equipment and Personal Computers  Graphic package experience in Photoshop Illustrator or similar would be an advantage KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS Understanding & Agreeing Requirements – the ability to identify the needs of customers and assist in developing the support & services to meet these needs Customer Services Orientation – an ability to provide a highly responsive and professional service to customers Building Credibility – the ability to develop the trust & confidence of customers through own highly professional approach Communication Skills – the ability to demonstrate excellent communication and written skills Analytical Thinking – the ability to think strategically and assess issues and their impact Problem Solving – the ability to understand and analyse issues and provide agreed solutions Team Working – the ability to work effectively as part of a team of highly motivated and professional individuals Equal Opportunities – the ability to demonstrate an understanding of the needs of different individuals Organisation Skills – the ability to use initiative to prioritise own workload and ensure all targets are achieved IT Skills – the ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to use a range of Computer software eg: Word Processing, Spreadsheet & Desk Top Publishing, Internet & E-mail Health & Safety – the ability to demonstrate informed consideration for aspects of Health & Safety, in particular relating to lifting and carrying packages up to 20 kgs unassisted and up to 50 kgs assisted.
