The RWD Scientist partners with functional counterparts in clinical, safety, biostatistics, regulatory, medical affairs, and market access to design and implement RWD solutions across the whole development lifecycle. The RWD Scientist has the primary strategic and operational responsibilities for the design, conduct, analysis and reporting of RWD studies to generate real world evidence in support of internal and external decision making. The RWD Scientist is typically the lead RWDS representative on cross-functional teams. Role Responsibilities: - Representing RWDS in cross-functional teams in support of clinical development and market access in the assigned disease area or the assigned molecule. - Develops RWD study concepts, protocols and analysis plans. Collaborates with external partners, including data partners, on design and implementation of RWD studies. - Conducts or oversees the efficient conduct of the study in collaboration with RWD - Analysts or external partners, and writes resulting study reports, publications, and internal and external presentations. - Partners with the RWD Analyst to develop RWE visualization tools/applications to broaden the accessibility, and to ensure that latest methodologies and analytical technics are implemented in RWD studies. Contributes to regulatory submissions and Health - - Technology Assessments in collaboration with global and local cross-functional teams; may participate in Health - Authority and HTA meetings. - Identifies external data sources and partnering opportunities to support the RWDS studies in the assigned disease areas (e.g. identification of registries) Who you are You’re someone who wants to influence your own development. Where a job title is not considered the final definition of who you are, but the starting point. - MSc or PhD in Health Sciences, e.g. Epidemiology, Outcomes Research, Public Health, Biology, Medicine, Psychology; Health Economics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or Computer Science; or similar areas of academic discipline. - Demonstrated track record of successful execution of analysis of patient-level data, e.g. observational clinical databases, clinical trials, genomic or imaging data, specifically those using existing data to answer new research questions, including publications and presentations at scientific conferences. - Experience in the life sciences industry and/or relevant academic or government organization or consultancy/CRO (at least 2-4 years). - Past experience in any of the following would be an asset: health economics and outcomes research, health policy, biomarker analysis, including analysis of –nomics data, development and/or implementation of digital health tools (e.g. patient-used apps), analysis of imaging data, knowledge of advanced analytic methods such as machine learning - Excellent drive for results (demonstrates interest and ability to learn new things, takes initiative, welcomes problems as challenges; finds solutions to technical problems) - Good project management skills (including ability to manage scope and effectively delegate to other functions, staff, contractors, and external vendors) Who we are Basel is the headquarters of the Roche Group and one of its most important centres of pharmaceutical research.
