Would you be our new Research Engineer?

We are looking for a Research Engineer to join our Smelting Team in Metso Research Center in Pori. As a Research Engineer you have a key responsibility in the field of pyrometallurgy in leading and participating R&D projects including project planning, execution (managing laboratory and pilot plant testwork), process flowsheet modelling & simulation and reporting. In this role you will be acting as a technical expert and conducting development of methods for pyrometallurgical research. You will be working closely with our internal stakeholders and provide sales support and guidance for example in customer related test work and technology support to help meet our clients' needs with the best possible way.

This position is fulltime and permanent, located in Pori. Due to practical logistical reasons, we are only able to consider candidates already located within EU region.

What are we looking for?

To succeed in this position, you will need to have a suitable educational background (M.Sc or doctoral degree in in metallurgy/ chemical /process technology) and already some experience working with pyrometallurgical industries or other relevant field. We expect you to have good IT skills and previous knowledge in HSC Chemistry is seen as an asset. Working in an international environment, you will need fluent spoken and written English language skills. Ideally you also have good Finnish Skills.

As a person you are a patient, accurate and proactive problem solver, who enjoys working independently as well as in a team with positive attitude. You will work with various stakeholders each day and therefore excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial in this role.
