Would you like to work on virtual scenes within signal processing and acoustics to create the framework and tools needed to benchmark, verify and evaluate international research?Whether you are already part of the research world or wish to step onto the scene, this is your chance to play an important role in aiding a team of highly professional international researchers in their work.

At our HQ in Ballerup, Denmark, you will join GN Advanced Science – an international, multi-disciplinary team of 30 colleagues.

Together, we carry out applied research within acoustics, signal processing, neuroscience, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, audiology, hearing science and multiple fields of engineering.Support the rapid prototyping frameworkWe are looking for you to help strengthen our research by creating and supporting our rapid prototyping framework within signal processing and acoustics.

You will do so by creating and developing virtual acoustic scenes using computer simulations, speaker setups and headphones – real life scenarios to benchmark, verify and evaluate the research of 5-10 colleagues from your team. Doing only a few projects at a time, you will get ample opportunity to submerge yourself in tasks and products of high complexity.

This will also allow you to develop your skills and the scope of your role over time.

Specifically, you will:• Develop and execute objective evaluations and baseline studies using the virtual acoustic scenes• Evaluate research methods• Help develop new measuring methods enabling us to measure the effect of new product abilities• Support colleagues in using your framework and toolsA truly global team of researchersYou will join a truly global team of 30 researchers, scientists and engineers based on 4 locations in Denmark, the Netherlands and the US.

You thrive in a global team and are ready to travel a few weeks a year and work across cultures, taking in and giving input and feedback.

With little supervision, you are capable of working independently and delivering results, providing solid arguments for your choices and suggestions.

Also, you take a structured approach to your work, creating an overview needed for complex research.• You hold a master’s degree or perhaps a PhD in acoustics, electrical engineering, signal processing or equivalent, providing you with a solid understanding of acoustics and signal processing.• You may have graduated recently, or you have some years of experience in the field. • You have experience using MatLab.• It is an advantage if you possess good knowledge of computer systems – specifically workflows within software development.• You speak and write English fluently.Would you like to know more?To apply, use the ‘APPLY’ link no later than 15 June 2018.
