The Night Support Worker provides a valuable service that ensures that Drogheda Women & Children’s Refuge operates a continued service 24/7, 365 days’ year in/year out. The role ensures the safety of the building and families in refuge nightly, offer continued support to the women accessing the refuge and operate the 24-hour helpline service, providing emotional and practical support and continuous safety planning.  The Night Worker is part of a team providing a range of pre-crisis, crisis, and post crisis response to women experiencing domestic violence / homelessness.

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the provision of services to Clients and to actively participate in the team effort to provide an effective service, using a trauma informed approach to your practice and working within a self-help and mutual aid framework with women and child protections at its core. To always promote Drogheda Women’s and Children’s Refuge Centre Ltd. in a positive and professional manner. This job is application based.

•    Minimum Level 7 in applied social studies e.g., social care or social studies and must have relevant experience working in the Social Sector for more than 3 years.

•    To have at least 2 years’ experience of working with victims of domestic abuse & homelessness, other residential/supported housing environment, advice or other relevant voluntary or statutory agency

This position is full time, shifts will be allocated over a fortnight (84 hours per fortnight, including training & team meetings) Closing Date for applications is: Wednesday 8th of May, 4pm.  

Salary bracket: €32,000 (Excluding weekend premiums).   1 year fixed contract.
