The South London Mental Health and Community Partnership SLP is a collaboration between Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, and South West London and St George’s Mental Health NHS Trust, delivering mental health services to a population of more than three million people.

The partnership brings together clinical expertise, experience and innovation, aiming to improve quality, use resources most effectively, and deliver best practice consistently to all patients.

The Psychosis Clinical Academic Group, in the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, has one of the largest groups in the world of clinicians and researchers working with people with psychosis.

In the Promoting Recovery pathway in Lambeth, we have created new Assistant Recovery Practitioner posts to increase the delivery of recovery-focused interventions, including specific protocol-based packages, and thereby improve outcomes for our service users.Assistant Recovery Practitioner post is open to qualified and unqualified staff from a range of backgrounds and professional trajectories, who have the skills to effectively engage people with psychosis in well-planned and carefully monitored structured interventions, following appropriate assessment.

Post holder will work under the supervision of a senior clinician, as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, and will also undertake tasks of care co-ordination, as agreed with the supervisor and borough leads.Post holder at Band 3 will be engaged in training and development, following a period of supervised experience.

Post holder at Band 3 will be engaged in a supportive capacity, building their skills in delivering structured interventions through co-working.

There are peer and group supervision opportunities, and specialist training is available in the Trust and through Kings College, London.

The posts will be based in Brixton Rd Central Promoting Recovery Team.

Travel to service users’ homes and to other Trust sites is expected.

The post holder will be supported under the national Apprenticeships Scheme to complete a 12 month development programme on the job; in line with the Apprenticeships Standards 2017.

The Care Certificate forms part of the training and covers most of the required mandatory training within the Trust.

Post holders with a ‘Care Certificate’ issued by the former employer will be expected to submit their certificate and portfolio of evidence, to the Education and Development Department for verification and further guidance on how to proceed once commencing the Apprenticeship Programme.The programme will also involve off ward training to ensure clinical support workers have the time to develop and consolidate their learning.At SLAM, Apprenticeships offers a new career pathway for clinical support workers to progress up the career ladder with confidence and flexibility.The Trust is committed to equal opportunities and operates a job share policy.
