Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to: The Project Leader is responsible for leading the delivery and detail design management process of the project. They will ensure the delivery of the project is within the safety, time, cost and quality requirements of the company. EH+S Performance * Ensure the establishment and provide the overall responsibility and leadership of the EH+S strategy for the project. Fully implement the requirements of the HG Safety Management System Client Management * Agree the client management strategy. Manage the formal requirements of the project with respect to and client meetings and the contract, also establish the informal relationship to keep the client aware of key issues on the project. Design Management * Manage the completion of the base design and the detailed design aspect of the project. Ensure the design is buildable and prevents ongoing maintenance issues and rework. Ensure the design produced in line with the cost plan and conduct the value engineering sessions to maximise HG opportunities and brief is met. Agree the ongoing consultant engagement and direction and confirm the responsibility for forecasting the administration of the consultant cost centres. Authorities / Stakeholder Management * Agree the status and accept the responsibility of the ongoing approval and Development Application actions required to deliver the project. * Establish all the finalisation activities to close the project out. * Establish and maintain a sound relationship with all stakeholders affecting the project including statutory authorities, utilities and unions. Financial Control and Administration * Provide the overall leadership and strategy for the financial control of the project. Develop and implement the procurement strategy for the project. Manage and monitor the cost reporting function of the project to ensure compliance with company requirements and accuracy in reporting. Maximise the opportunities and minimise risks throughout the project. Fully utilise and promote any innovative supply chain arrangements or internal trading companies. * Ensure reporting, record keeping and all financial functions are done to the company’s requirements and in line with the applicable limits of authority. Planning and Programming * Ensure the planning and management plans controls are in place and applicable to the project. Establish and monitor the programming hierarchy on the project this will include the overall programming requirements as well as the mid and short range requirements. Identify and control the key planning and time risks on the project. All the planning requirements extend to the Safety, Environment, Stakeholder, Traffic, Quality, plans and risks / opportunity and key issues tracking schedules applicable to the project. Leadership * Manage the employee relation function of the project team. Engage, motivate and provide disciplined leadership for all project staff.
