029295 Project Administrator COLLEGE OF ARTS SCHOOL OF HUMANITIES Management Professional & Administrative -GRADE 5 Job Purpose To provide comprehensive administrative research support on higher education establishments, to the Investigators on the Innovate UK Grant Project Mobius.
To communicate with University staff, and those in target institutions, to inform the Investigators, and to aid their decision concerning partners for Project Mobius.
Main Duties and Responsibilities 1.
Undertake a comprehensive investigation of course content, student numbers, and institutional structure of select Russel Group institutions, by direct contact, or by secondary means such as through website search, or public documentation, as directed by Investigators.
Act as main market researcher and analyst concerning suitability of target institutions to act as partners for Project Mobius.
Document findings for the benefit of the project team.
Identify and resolve issues where possible regarding research and reporting.
Attend meetings at target institutions as required by the Investigators.
Any other related administrative duties as required by the Investigators.
Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and Experience Knowledge/Qualifications Essential A1 Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 7 (Advanced Higher/Scottish Vocational Qualification level 3, Higher National Certificate) or equivalent, and experience of personal development in a similar role OR ability to demonstrate the competencies required to undertake the duties associated with this level of post having acquired the necessary knowledge and skills in a similar role.
A2 Detailed practical knowledge of Virtual Reality systems.
A3 A comprehensive and up-to-date knowledge and awareness of issues concerning the use of Virtual Reality systems in education.
Desirable B1 Knowledge of Virtual Reality applications.
B2 Postgraduate degree (or working towards this qualification) Skills Essential C1 Proven interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
C2 Effective planning, organising and prioritising skills.
C3 Good analytical and problem solving skills.
C4 Excellent attention to detail.
C5 Strong IT skills, including Excel, Word and networked systems.
C6 Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
C7 Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing environments.
C8 Initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently.
C9 Self-motivated with ability for initiative and independent thought/working.
C10 High standard of English, both written and spoken Experience Essential E1 Experience of demonstrating Virtual reality systems to novice users.
E2 Experience of Higher Education environment.
E3 Proven decision making, involving independent analysis and judgement.
Desirable F1 Experience of report-writing.

Be proactive, reactive and flexible, working effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
Decision Making Provide advice and guidance to Investigators on target institutions Using initiative and judgement to handle issues independently.
Identifying gaps or errors in the research and liaising with staff to mitigate these.
Internal/External Relationships Provide direct support to Investigators.
Regular communication by e-mail, telephone and in person with co-investigator.
Communication with target institutions.
Problem Solving Deal with research enquiries from principal investigator, responding timeously.
Resolve research/analysis issues/problems that arise during the lifecycle of a project.
Use skills, knowledge, initiative and experience to independently solve the problems or queries that arise.
Use initiative to identify issues and independent judgement on matters to be investigated and analysed.
