Descripción de la oferta de trabajo:
Novo Nordisk is building a world-class research team within Cardiovascular & Liver Disease Research, and is seeking an experienced and highly motivated scientist to drive our efforts in the discovery of novel therapeutic biologicals in Non-alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), Atherosclerosis, and Heart Failure.About the departmentCardiovascular and Liver Disease Research (CVLD) is a cross-disciplinary department in Global Drug Discovery, Novo Nordisk, dedicated to research within the cardio-metabolic field, in particular non-alcoholic steatohepatitis, atherosclerosis and heart failure.
As part of Novo Nordisk’s new strategy within chronic diseases, this department has a focus towards building a research platform, target identification, validation and pre-clinical progression of new treatment options within these indications.
Currently, the department consists of 35 employees of whom 17 are Research Scientists.
We work in a flexible, collaborative, and cross-functional setting, while keeping focus on quality and goals in an informal environment. The positionYou will be expected to contribute to the CVLD research strategy providing key scientific input in topics related to immunology as they pertain to contributing to disease pathophysiology in the areas of interest.
In addition, it is expected that the candidate will be contributing by identifying and exploring new therapeutic agents.
Your scientific responsibilities will be to establish and execute an in vitro and in vivo strategy to address immune related mechanisms relevant to CVLD areas of interest together with other members of the team.
In addition, pro-actively design, coordinate, and report experimental studies in rodents for model characterisation, target validation, and drug efficacy in collaboration with the in vivo team.
A major part of your job will be to guide junior scientists and/or laboratory technicians on a daily basis to conduct ex vivo analyses such as immunostaining, flow cytometry, primary cell culture, and various immunoassays. With your expertise, you will be further strengthening our experimental research platform with novel, state-of-the-art in vivo and ex vivo approaches.
Maintaining a broad scientific network is a key to success and you are expected to foster and sustain the necessary external collaborations.QualificationsYou hold a Ph.D. degree in Immunology or related discipline with at least 5 years of independent research in industry or academic settings in immunology.
You have hands-on experience conducting mechanistic studies relevant to immune regulation in vivo and ex vivo and have a proven scientific track-record and a thorough understanding of inflammation, and preferentially liver or cardiac pathophysiology in both humans and rodents.
You have experience with preclinical animal models of immune diseases and broad experience with immunological and molecular principles such as primary cell isolation/culture, multicolour flow cytometry, cell sorting, imagine techniques, and immunoassays.
Experience with in vitro functional assays using primary immune cells and conducting experimental studies on human material is highly desirable. You are a self-motivated team player with strong communication skills as you will be responsible for appropriate reporting and communication of scientific results.
You enjoy working in cross-disciplinary teams and also independently on multiple programs in a fast-paced environment.
