The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering at DTU conducts cutting-edge research in a range of activities from process simulation and modelling to the development of new bioprocesses. The development of new pharmaceutical processes is of particular interest. To complement the existing work we would now like to start a PhD in the field of continuous biocatalytic processes. Responsibilities and tasks The position will involve the characterization of biocatalytic reactions, development of suitable laboratory scale process analysis and process modelling tools, as well as significant experimental work. The position will examine the possibilities for converting a batch biocatalytic reaction into a continuous one. The position will be part of a collaborative project as part of the Lundbeck – DTU Chemical Engineering initiative on future pharmaceutical processes. Qualifications Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering. Approval and Enrolment The scholarships for the PhD degree are subject to academic approval, and the candidates will be enrolled in one of the general degree programmes of DTU.
