Operations Manager Salary: Highly Competitive £££ Benefits: Auto enrolled pension with company contribution of 3%, Company Health Insurance after first 12 months of employment.

Hours: Hours of work are 8:00am to 4:30pm with 30 mins lunch Monday to Friday, (38.75 hours per week) Location: Keighley Byworth Boiler Hire Limited are the UK’s leading hirer of industrial steam and hot water boilers.

The company hires boilers to many market sectors including food and drinks manufacturers, hospitals, pharma and petrochemical companies.

Based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, the company has enjoyed steady growth for many years and it is because of this expansion that we have the following vacancy.

The appointed candidate will be responsible for optimising the turnaround of hire boiler units returning to the yard making them available for hire quickly whilst reviewing cost of operations, labour and materials, and reviewing efficiencies.

You will also be required to monitor the cost of labour and materials on new hire units compared to budgets and along with colleagues, be involved in implementation of new systems for stock control, allocation of costs to individual plant, and booking of labour hours to plant.

Duties Include: • Overall responsibility for the operations of the company in the Keighley yard and workshops • In charge of Health and Safety for the company, and safe working practices in the yard • Ensuring staff work to safe procedures both for their own and other’s safety. • Optimise availability of hire plant, reducing time taken for planned maintenance and repairs • Ensuring hire plant goes to customers in the best possible condition reducing problems on site • Ensuring all equipment is operated in a safe manner and is in an appropriately safe condition • Smooth running of operations with efficient working methods, co-operation between departments and a good working atmosphere. • Ensuring RAMS are up to date and complete. • Enforcing site rules such as Covid 19 precautions, PPE, speed limits are adhered to • Awareness of cost control whether man hours or materials • HR duties for the teams, including recruitment, arranging external and internal training and disciplinary procedures • Supporting the three team supervisors of Boiler Maintenance, Electricians and New build teams, with HR, H&S, mentoring and motivation, monitoring quality and rate of work, and encouraging a culture of efficient teamwork.

Person Specification Essential: • Excellent at team management. • Excellent organisational and leadership skills. • Excellent problem-solving abilities. • Competent in all aspects of HR. • Good knowledge of Health & Safety in a similar environment. • Engineering qualifications or background. • Competent in MS Office (Excel/Outlook/Word) and ability to learn new IT software quickly. • Ability to communicate well at all levels and good written communication skills. • Must already live within commuting distance of Keighley.
