For our Offshore Loads and Control Department at our engineering offices in Brande and Ballerup, we are looking for a load design engineer to strengthen our Turbine Loads team in DK. With the high level aim of minimizing the cost of energy produced by our wind turbines, the team is responsible for making state of the art load and control solutions for our large turbine development projects. As a load design engineer, you will be included in a strong technical team, including colleagues in the US, France, India and Denmark, and be a vital part of the turbine development project team.
About the role
As a load design engineer, you will be performing load calculations for the SGRE state-of-the-art turbines and associated type approvals. Your work will be tested and validated on prototype turbines, were learnings will be fed back to the calculation process.
You will follow the turbine through the design stages and contribute to improvements through load tool development and contribution to our aero-elastic models and structural interfaces.
You will be expected to plan your own working day and take ownership and drive your tasks.
You will be surrounded be highly specialised and motivated colleagues, in a busy but helpful atmosphere.
You can make real what matters, have a strong technical knowledge within the domain. You carry an open mind and a hunger to learn and develop. Preferable you have:
- A Masters or Ph.D degree in Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- A strong background in structural dynamics
- Experience within structural element modelling and aero-elastic calculation systems
- Knowledge of classic control
- Some years of experience within the wind industry, preferably within wind turbine modelling
- Excellent English skills both oral and in writing
