35 Hours per Week Fixed Term Contract for 2 years Salary: Year 1: £125 per week Year 2: Age Appropriate National Minimum/ Living Wage rate This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the council’s Licensing & Land Charges Team. We are seeking to recruit an Apprentice Licensing & Land Charges Assistant to provide support for a wide range of licensing activities including, but not limited to, taxi, alcohol, gambling & animal welfare licensing. The successful applicant will also assist in providing local authority property and land searches. Previous experience of working in an office environment would be advantageous but no previous experience of either licensing or land charges is required, as full training will be given in all aspects of the role. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, conscientious and self motivated, have good organisational skills, an excellent telephone manner and the ability to plan and prioritise effectively to meet deadlines. A flexible approach to working hours is required to fulfil this 35 hour contract, to be worked between Monday and Friday each week Appointment is subject to a probationary period: timeliness, politeness and reliability are important attributes for our apprentices. Please note there is no age limit on our apprenticeships. The successful applicant will, alongside on the job training, study towards a Level 2 National Vocational Qualification in Business & Administration (subject to available funding) and will attend other appropriate training courses, where available.
