Being a kitchen porter is about being perfectly placed to see how one of our kitchens operates. It means being able to work in all areas of the kitchen, helping chefs, building your knowledge and playing an important role in the smooth running of the operation - experience isn’t necessary, what’s more important is that you are friendly, helpful and keen to get involved. You’ll help with deliveries, clean kitchen areas and learn simple food preparation skills. High standards of hygiene and attention to detail are important – with the energy to stay one step ahead in a fast-moving, customer focused environment. Duties - Acceptance of deliveries with rotation of stock in store rooms and fridges - Putting stock away and issuing of stock to clients - Cleaning duties in kitchen includes cleaning of kitchen equipment, washing up, clearing tables and cleaning dining room area, cleaning of floor at the end of the day and general kitchen duties. - Re stocking of all chiller units in the dining area and taking responsibility for stock rotation in these displays and liaising with location manager to assist in the daily ordering of any stock that may be required. - Limited food prep to assist with the day to day running of the team. This position is at a large industrial site where safety of employees and customers is of the upmost importance as is food standards, cleanliness and customer service. No experience is necessary as full training will be given however, any prospective employee must be honest, hardworking and willing to work as a team and assist wherever the head chef or manager deem necessary. Hours:Monday – Friday 7.00am-2.30pm, 35 hours per week.
