It Operations Manager

Overview In summary the role is to plan, direct, coordinate and execute all activities required to ensure the delivery, maintenance and support of Shanahan Engineering’s Information Technology Infrastructure, including hardware, software and network to provide a consistently high quality and reliable service to onsite and remote users. Shanahan Engineering are HQ’ed in Dublin, with operational offices across the world, including the USA, UK, South Africa and Saudi Arabia.
Direct daily operations of IT Support Department, analyzing workflow, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines.
Schedule installations and software upgrades and solicit cooperation and resolve problems.
Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity.
Assign and reviews the work of Vendor Support Technicians.
Provide users with technical support for computer problems.
Ensure that data security and control steps are taken to ensure data control, data safety and disaster recovery.
Stay up-to-date with advances in technology.
Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.
Work with senior management to evaluate the organisation's technology use and needs and recommend improvements.
Stay current on trends and changes within the IT management field.
Prepare and review operational reports and project progress reports.
Evaluate data processing proposals to assess project feasibility and requirements.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting of hardware.
Assist in developing user training communications, material and procedures.
Ensure that new computer specifications are well documented, that new computers are consistently configured to meet SE software standards, and that follow up needed by the users of those new computers is minimized.
Provide day to day direction to and supervision of vendor support technicians helping each client support technician to grow in their capacity and value to the business.
Implement the EthosEnergy IT Policies within the business unit.
Operate Shanahan Engineering Information Systems ITIL based ITSM systems.
Manage the IT Team to provide support and maintenance of the IT equipment and Network to ensure functionality & availability to users across the business.
Strong indirect management and leadership skills
Proficiency in ITIL ITSM practice
Strong written and verbal communication at all levels
Capable of delivering results in a diverse, ever changing environment
Strong facilitation, listening and conflict resolution skills
Accepts accountability and program ownership
Ability to operate successfully in a matrix organization
Data focused decision maker.
Principal Working Relationships:
Direct working relationship with the Shanahan Engineering IS/IT Team.
Dotted line reporting relationship to the EthosEnergy VP, IS/IT for functional mentoring and program alignment.
