Will you be motivated to work in a position combining both HR and administrative tasks? This position combines operational HR support for seafarers in Maersk Line, as well as responsibility for documentation and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

As a HR Crew Coordinator you will ensure our seafarers live up to the Danish and international compliance requirements and have the needed documentation before joining a vessel. This is an interactive process with the seafarers, who forward us the required documents, which we then update our systems. You will be responsible for ensuring that training requirements have been met for all our Scandinavian seafarers, and work closely with the local administration and Danish Maritime AuthorityYour responsibilities will also include HR services to our seafarers within the following areas: Recruitment, Promotions, Demotions, Resignations, Disciplinary, Transfers, Personal Improvement Plans, Employment law and contractual matters.You will assist and answer questions from the seafarers typically by email or phone, and also arrange office visits. You will work hand in hand with seafarer performance along with our Operational shore staff, and guide them concerning Danish regulations and employment law with regards to HR matters.Your main stakeholders will be the seafarers, our colleagues in Manning Offices globally, Maersk Line Operation (Crewing and our Fleet Superintendents), local authorities and DMA.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate has knowledge of, and experience with, operational HR and administrative processes. It is an advantage if you have worked with recruitment and systems such as MAPS and ProArc. You are focused on detail and delivering high quality work, comfortable with multi-tasking, and working in an international English speaking environment - yet also capable of handling repetitive tasks. Crewing industry experience or knowledge of the international maritime industry is an added value, as would be experience in Danish legislation.Danish is not a requirement but preferable.You possess the ability to have difficult conversations with others and you are easily adaptable and enjoy working with multiple conflicting priorities.Approximately one week per month, you will be responsible for the after hours duty phone, which includes Next of Kin communication in the event of emergencies. This role requires a responsible person, capable of working well under pressure. This role may be closed before the last application date as we proceed with candidates on a continuous basis.
