An award-winning ethical beauty and cosmetics company.

PURPOSE OF ROLE To drive and manage all aspects of fragrance development across all touch points: To manage the development of all fragrance led products from concept to launch (including ancillaries).

Bring innovation to the fragrance category and scent across all categories by capturing at an early stage new ideas in line with consumer insights.

Guarantee the development of efficient, compliant and safe products, with perfect quality and on time versus launch plan.

Monitor and maintain the catalogue of running formulas to keep them compliant to new regulatory changes and on the different markets.

Monitor regulatory compliance, keeping the business at the forefront of regulatory changes, managing risk.

Manage the relationships between the company and fragrance houses, developing a strategy for supplier management and selection.

KEY JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: To ensure fragrance led products are developed in accordance with agreed timelines to ensure the prompt availability of quality products for businesses that are safe and effective, suitable for production, in line with the marketing brief expectations, lead times and costs.

Ensure fragrance compounds across all categories are developed and approved in accordance with internal and global regulations, and within project timelines and costs Build a strong relationship with our core fragrance houses and to implement and manage an effective review of supplier performance.

Engage/identify innovation from our current vendor portfolio as well as new vendors.

Ensure perfect execution of the R&I strategy in line with the company purpose.

Monitor and maintain the catalogue of existing fragrance led products and be accountable for the ongoing compliance of all brand fragrances (regulatory management) Provide monitoring in your field of expertise and develop your internal and/or external network.

INNOVATION Anticipate product/brand requirements, factoring in technological innovation, consumer perception and market demand, building strong links with both internal and external innovation partners.

Keep abreast of industry trends and knowledge of ingredients.

PROCESSES To simplify and homogenise our ways of working.

To instill a culture of continuous improvement within the team.

TEAM MANAGEMENT To develop an efficient and agile team focused on Quality, Innovation and Consumer needs.

Recruit, develop and manage teams; ensure the development of know-how and expertise and contribute to organisational development.

Ensure the safety of people/assets and compliance with quality procedures.

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS EXPERIENCE: Must have proven experience in technical aspects of fragrance development.

Must have proven experience of fragrance evaluation.

Must have a broad range of product experience and formats, and a track record for delivering innovation.

QUALIFICATIONS: Diploma in Cosmetic Science and/or Advanced Qualifications in Science.

COMPETENCIES REQUIRED: Proven scientific and technical expertise.

Fragrance development skills.

Master complexity.

Must be able to influence others to achieve change and success.

Good ability to work with others in a team (his team or project team).

Proven ability to manage people and projects.
