As we continue to grow the business, we are continuously looking at ways to improve our development processes. To assist us with that aim, we are looking to recruit a committed and skilled graduate to work with us on a 12 month project which aims to deliver product release efficiency improvements. Following the successful delivery of the project, we would anticipate that the role will become permanent. Job description Project Description As part of a corporate-wide initiative, NCR is trying to reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO) of our entire product portfolio. In turn, this will result in significant cost, quality and time to market benefits for NCR as well as vastly improving the customer experience. As part of this TCO initiative, NCR has created a project-based placement within the R&D Product Engineering team for a graduate to assist with improvements to the overall product electronic systems design. This is an outstanding placement opportunity for a hungry and talented graduate who is keen to build a career in a fast paced business environment. The role will quickly take on responsibility, becoming immersed in projects and engaging tasks, while building relationships across the wider NCR team Placement Objectives Working as part of a successful team, you will be tasked with making a major contribution towards the reduction in Total Cost of Ownership of the entire product range. In turn, this will deliver improvements in the triple constraint of schedule, cost and quality. The end result, will be an increased margin for NCR and greater customer satisfaction. Role Description The project will be carried out with support from management within the Engineering team as well as Senior Electronic Engineers. Key activities will include: * Identify ways in which you can make a positive contribution towards the successful launch of the next exciting range of NCR products * Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the electronic systems designs, relating to the existing product range * Working as a key team member, apply lessons learned from existing designs all the way to new, state-of-the-art product developments Qualifications A 2.1 in an engineering related subject would be ideal for this placement.
