Vinson & Elkins RLLP seeks to recruit a trainee solicitor to join its legal team in its London Office. Candidates should ideally have experience as a Litigation Paralegal at a leading international law firm, preferably in London.
During the course of the two year training contract, the applicant who will have completed the Legal Practice Course will be expected to work on a range of litigation and corporate matters, and will have to demonstrate competency in a range of skills including: legal drafting; negotiation, advocacy; research and client communications, such that they will be eligible for admission as an English solicitor at the end of the two year period, and will be considered for an Associate position thereafter. Vinson and Elkins RLLP will ensure that, over the course of the training, the amount and type of work given to trainees adequately covers each skill and is of an appropriate level and complexity for the trainee in question.

The Role Key Responsibilities and Duties include: · To provide high quality assistance and complete work and tasks by themselves · To develop and maintain good client relationship skills · Establishing what needs to be done to solve a client’s problem · Accompany Partners and Associates to client meetings · Draw up draft contracts and other legal documents · Observe experienced practitioners Professional Standards: · To work and behave in a professional manner and to the highest standards of the profession · Comply with procedures set out in the Office Procedures Manual (OPM), professional standards and any requirement set by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) · Carry out duties given by the partners or employees faithfully and diligently and follow all reasonable instructions · Treat all information about the firm and its client and their business as wholly confidential · Keep up-to-date with changes in the law · Record all chargeable hours Personal Development: · To have a clear understanding of what it would take to develop a career to the next level · Support internal procedures and systems of Vinson & Elkins RLLP including file/case management, time recording · To respect partners, staff and clients and in turn earn the respect of the department and clients · Attend internal training and external training as and when required · Keep up to date with law and practice · Share information with colleagues Fee Contribution: · Solicitors at every level must be able to show a track record of achieving their fee contribution and time targets and that the targets are appropriate for their position and level of qualification as specified in Vinson & Elkins RLLP’s Career Structure Person Specification – experience and attributes required: · &nb
