Job role: At Activate Learning, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our existing team within Academic and Professional Studies faculty as a Faculty Manager based at Reading College.

Faculty teams of learning professionals co-create and co-deliver the learner experience alongside our carefully selected employer-partners, offering learners a direct line of sight to employment, and focusing on making every one of our learners a highly employable individual.

The Faculty of Academic and Professional Studies delivers programmes such as, A levels, Access to higher Education, Professional Courses, Health Care, Counselling, Early years, Science and Travel and Business What do you need to be successful in this role? The person we are searching for will manage our A level and large Access provision, be driven by a desire to inspire our learners to take responsibility, aim high, earn respect and make it happen.

You will be an inspiring teacher who can lead a teaching team to innovate, and improve the learner experience, working collaboratively across the Activate Learning Group.

You will be able to demonstrate outstanding teaching with the requisite teaching qualifications and a sound record of how you have developed yourself and stayed up to date.

The successful candidate, who will have a sophisticated understanding of teaching and learning and the drive to develop outstanding teachers through appropriate coaching approaches.

You will lead a teaching team and have responsibility for creating the conditions for driving quality of teaching, learning and assessment to ensure learners have an outstanding experience and develop the skills, knowledge and attributes needed for their career progression.

The role also includes a proportional teaching commitment within the faculty.

Experience of teaching A levels would be desirable.
