We are looking for a skilled data scientist with experience in mathematical modelling, analysis of large heterogenous datasets and machine learning for the National Life Science Supercomputing Centre, Technical University of Denmark.
You will be a part of a large project aimed at creating artificial health data. You will furthermore assist in the design and development of various state-of-the-art analyses and prediction tools for large and complex datasets and use cases, primarily in the life science domain.
Primary areas of responsibility
As a data scientist you will play a key role in understanding the needs of our users and assist them with various complex analyses and workflows. You will play a key role in the development of in-house numerical simulations of life science data, including artificial health data, as well as building and advancing our data science platform with various state-of-the-art prediction models.
Your main tasks would include:
- Designing and developing numerical simulations and models for artificial health data
- Consulting and collaborating with the project partners and researchers outside of the team.
- Implementing and developing prediction models and visualisation tools to the data science platform
- Collecting, cleaning and analysing life science data
- Project management of various projects at the Centre
Our expectations of you The competences that will be required:
- PhD within a discipline with strong modelling and computational components, such as Physics, Mathematics, Data Science, Bioinformatics or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated track record of mathematical modelling, numerical simulations and algorithm development
- Strong programming and scripting skills, preferably Python3
- Excellent knowledge and practical experience with statistical analysis, modern machine learning methods and data presentation
- Experience in working in large international collaborations
It would be a plus to have experience with:
- Image recognition models
- Building RESTful APIs
- Cloud infrastructures

Salary and appointment terms

The Danish National Life Science Supercomputing Center, Computerome is a HPC Facility specialized for Life Science. Users include Research groups from all Danish Universities and large international research consortiums as well as users from industry and the public Health Care Sector. Computerome is physically installed at the DTU Risø campus and managed by a strong team of specialists from DTU. Computerome is the official supercomputer of ELIXIR Denmark, a member of ELIXIR, the European infrastructure for biological information.
