Would you like to create an impact, while evolving in a dynamic and inclusive culture founded on cooperation, curiosity and high ambitions? If so, Deloitte is the place for you! We acknowledge and fulfil your potential and offer you a strong professional network, where you can unfold your interests and passions.

Your team

Deloitte Finance is on a transformational journey and has the ambition to become a state of the art Finance function, a showcase for Deloitte and a trusted advisor in commercial and operational decision-making. We will push the limits for advanced analytics (in a finance context) and promote data driven behavior whenever and wherever it adds value - combined with close business partnerships.

To support this journey, Deloitte is looking for a data scientist to join Analytics. Analytics is part of Commercial Insights in Finance. Commercial Insight’s strategic objective is to drive higher earnings across the business through insights, knowledge and sparring - enabling better decision-making and profitability in the front line. Commercial Insights service all business areas in Denmark: Audit & Assurance, Consulting, Financial Advisory, Risk Advisory and Tax & Legal. However, Deloitte is increasing its international vertical integration so we will strengthen our ties not only with the Nordic countries but also with North West Europe in general.

As a team, Analytics is in charge of providing superior and actionable insights across many different areas and for providing a view on future performance - and we work closely with the Finance Business Partners when communicating our findings and recommendations to the front line.

Currently, Analytics consists of nine experienced colleagues with backgrounds in business administration, finance and economics - but the team is looking to grow its quantitative capabilities.

Your assignments

As a data scientist, you will take up a key role in developing the advanced analytics platform supporting the overall transformation. Moreover, you will take part in asking and answering business critical questions such as "What drives our earnings?", "Which business areas should we focus on?" and "How can we improve?". In other words, we will present you with a wide range of problems related to (but not limited to) clustering, classification, predictions, correlation/causality and anomaly detection as well as you will take part in digitizing our processes. Importantly, we also expect you to work define a significant share of your own tasks!

Your qualifications

  • You have a master degree, or PhD, in natural science (e.g. mathematics, statistics, physics, computer science)
  • You have a few years of experience from working as a data scientist (or as a PhD student).
  • You have strong programming skills (e.g. Python and its eco-system) – and very good general IT skills.
  • You are familiar with Azure, Amazon Web Services - or similar
  • You are a confident communicator and you find it easy to explain complex problems, concepts and solutions to colleagues with limited scientific background.

Industry specific knowledge is less important as long as you know how to transfer you skills and competences between industries and areas.
