Do you have the curiosity to dive deep and find hidden patterns? Would you like to see your best-in-class statistical and analytical capabilities materialize into marketing investments and product features? momondo is looking for a person that has strong mathematical capabilities (MSc in mathematics, statistics, or economics) and can apply advanced statistical analysis on huge data sets. You have used common tools like R/Python and have experience with building SQL queries. Ideally you have solid business understanding, preferably e-commerce, with knowledge of website development and/or marketing in general. You are curious by nature, can explain complicated findings and are not afraid to propose changes to the existing. Ideally you have 3-5 year experience as an analyst, big data analyst or statistician in a related field, but newly grads with experience from student jobs are also welcome to apply. Responsibilities •Take our marketing-mix modelling capabilities to the next level by using advanced analytical methods and machine learning solutions •Develop scenarios and identify best opportunities for our global marketing efforts •Analyze marketing effectiveness and performance across all channels and markets to optimize ROI •Take part in developing our in-house segmentation model further with user level insights, predictive models and recommendations •Help marketers and developers to understand and act on user level insights, be part of building a personalized experience for every user both on marketing channels and on-site •Generate ideas and build data based product features to strengthen user experience and monetization •Take full ownership of smaller analysis projects •Be part of driving the Big Data strategy Skills – must have •MSc or equivalent education in mathematics, statistics, or economics •Experience running SQL queries and analyses in a database solution with significant data volumes. •Advanced R and/or Python knowledge •Experience in data aggregation and transformations, with strong focus on advanced modeling •Comfortable with English on Business level •Strong analytical skills, with the ability to extract a clear and concise story from the numbers •Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills including asking the right questions to identify the root cause of an issue or causal relationship •Willingness to take the initiative and ownership of projects from design to implementation •Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting deadlines •High energy, strong work ethic, willingness to do "whatever it takes" to get to the results •Mental flexibility, including ability to dive very deep into details of the data (e.g., to ensure data quality) but also ability to see the big picture and take smart shortcuts where appropriate Skills – like to have •General understanding of website measurement, web analytics •General understanding of web development •ETL experience •Experience with big data platforms (Redshift, Vertica, Hive) •BI tool experience (Tableau, Qlik) •Machine learning experience We are momondo is a free, independent and inspirational global travel search site comparing billions of cheap flights, hotels and car hire deals.
