CONSULTANT Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, 10 PA Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust is an innovative Trust delivering integrated mental health and community health services in five counties and regionally. We now have a substantive consultant opportunity based in Oxford to help work on our transformation plans which allows the consultant staff to work to a new way of working and the service to work with partners to deliver the vision as described in ‘ Future in Mind ‘. We have Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services CAMHS based in Oxford providing for the City Raglan House and Clinics in the local areas of Witney, Abingdon and Banbury. The Trust benefits from strong working relationships with Oxford University, within which the University Department of Psychiatry is highly rated for teaching and research. The trust has been awarded a biomedical research centre and Global digital exemplar status. Many consultant psychiatrists contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching programmes and can become involved in research. The Oxford University section of child psychiatry supports specialist clinical services and research on neurodevelopmental disorders, brain imaging, infant mental health problems, and refugee children. Bath University has strong links with CAMHS and Professor Paul Stallard with research interest in school based initiatives, CBT and innovations with Apps works in the University as well as the Keynsham CAMHS team. CAMHS is an award winning innovative service, recently successful in being awarded the ongoing contracts for Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, is the most capable providers for Wiltshire, B&NES and Swindon. CAMHS is a leader in delivering CYP IAPT with Reading University as its Higher Education and Innovation Partner. The post holders will join the tier 3 community CAMHS team in Oxford based at Raglan House. The Tier 2 service PCAMHS and Learning Disability services and clinicians from Outreach Service for Children and Adolescents OSCA is also within the same clinic. Oxford CAMHS have access to in-patient tier 4 services in Swindon and Oxford. There is a supportive clinical network of psychiatric colleagues across Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire who share peer supervision and CPD activities. There are regular in-house training opportunities and leadership development opportunities There are close links with the Bucks CAMHS teams, which are part of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, with whom an out of hour’s rota of approx. 1:13 is shared. The applicant should have a higher specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in approved training post, and must be at least within 6 months obtaining their CCT at the time of interview.
