What is Woshapp?
When you wash your car today, you are using 200-liter water to clean it. This is not very environment-friendly. Also, going to the gas station to wash your car takes a lot of time.
We revolutionize the way people wash cars. Instead of using 200 liters, we use around 300-500 ml of water and wash your car where you parked it. This can be outside your home in the evening. Or in the parking lot while you are working.
This is especially good for companies that have cars that are used by several people throughout the day. One of our largest customers, BMW Drive Now, rent out their cars to anyone on-demand. Before, they had to hire a firm that both picked up and drove their cars to the nearest gas station to wash it. This took a lot of time and was costly.
Instead, they can have their car washed in 20 minutes for 299 sek from Woshapp.
What have we accomplished so far?
We started working on Woshapp about 1 years ago. Since then:
- we wash 700 cars per month at 299 sek/car
- we have 7-10 active washers every month who are trained by Woshapp
- we raised 1.6 + million in the past six months
- we have built a team of people who have equity in the company and truly believe in our mission
- we have developed an app that makes it possible for anyone in Stockholm to have their car washed within an hour (the BETA will be released before 2018)
- we have a digital web-based booking system for car washing
What is it like working here?
We believe in this company. Most of our employees have left great jobs to come work for us. We all have ownership in the company and want to offer to the possibility to not only have a salary but also be given stock options so that you can have a part of the value in the future.
Every person in the company has a lot of individual freedom to create. You are free to come up with solutions that you think would work well. The most important thing is that we deliver great products to our users and that we work towards a common goal.
Another thing that we believe in is learning on the job. We are all constant learners and believe that as long as you are open to learning, it doesn’t really matter if you have not worked with some of the technologies that we use.
We are in a very interesting phase right now. We have more customers than we can keep up with (companies from other cities have already asked us to launch the service there). Our goal is to launch our BETA before the New Year. Then during the upcoming months scale up with more customers, hire four new employees, onboard tons of new washers, and raise another round of investment.
In this work, there are a lot of interesting technological challenges. Today, part of our delivery is manual and we want to build solutions to make the solution as automatic as possible.
In your every day, your main challenge will be to keep up with our demands of washers. Our sales guys will sell more washes and we need to make sure that we can deliver what we sell. The main challenge to make that run smoothly is to educate the washers and onboard them to the company.
Right now, we have a process where we recruit washers through a variety of online portals and then give them two tests that we use to understand their future performance. We want to make sure that we recruit the right people and that they get the best training possible to be able to do their jobs.
