Clinical Research Fellow in Geriatric Medicine An exciting opportunity has arisen here at University College London Hospitals for experienced Clinical Research Fellow in the rapidly advancing field of Acute and Geriatric medical research at one of the world’s most pioneering research institutions.

UCLH has made acute and emergency research an organisational priority.

The post holder will support projects in the following areas: Physiological resilience in ageing: mechanisms and consequences Enhancing delirium recovery: an integrated multidisciplinary approach Perioperative Investigation of Markers of Elevated Delirium Risk (PRIMED Risk) Enhancing Influenza Vaccination Efficacy In Ageing (EIVEA) The post will be fully supported within a robust management and governance structure, in order to generate academic research in the area of individual interest.

Work will also link in with the School of Geriatric Medicine.

The post is offered on a 50:50 clinical: research split.

The appointment will be for one year in first instance with an anticipated start date of August 2018.

Previous research experience is not a pre-requisite for the post Information for junior doctors who are interested in Clinical Research Fellow Posts Clinical Research Fellow posts are research posts and trainees will have to take time out of their training posts to undertake these roles; Individuals will be leaving their training to do this research and will need to seek permission from HEE; Clinical Research Fellow posts are trust doctor posts and adhere to the trust doctor pay scales; Individuals are likely to be paid less in these roles due to differences: in the training contract and the trust doctor contract; and the amount of on-call and working during premium hours they will undertake during their research; Individuals could make up this pay difference by taking on more locum shifts; An individual in training who takes up one of these posts will need to seek an OOPE or LTFT from HEE to undertake the role- this needs to be done in advance of taking up the post For further details / informal visits contact: Contact For informal enquiries or to arrange a visit, please contact Dr.
