Within our Offshore Blade Technology department, we are currently looking for a Blade Materials Engineer within Coatings for the Blade Materials Team. The Blade Materials Team is responsible for screening and development of new material systems, development and maintenance of technical requirement specifications, establishment of engineering characteristics for coating systems, consolidation of material approvals, and establishment of design values.
How to contribute to our vision
As a Blade Materials Engineer within Coatings, you will be the main technical responsible for coating components (filler, primer, topcoat) in offshore blades. Thus, your contributions and responsibilities will include the maintenance and development of technical specifications, as well as defining the roadmap for offshore blade coating systems in close alignment with stakeholders and contributing to technology development projects.
Furthermore, you will be taking the technical lead on original and 2nd source material qualifications within the coating area and test method development for material characterization. You will oversee characterization, analysis, and specification of chemical and physical properties of surface coatings for composite structures.
In this position, you will also be collaborating with various stakeholders, including internal and external test laboratories, other internal departments, e.g., Process Engineering, Design Engineering, Quality and with coating suppliers.
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for a person who:
Holds a degree in science, engineering, technology or similar.
Has knowledge in the area of surface chemistry and composite materials.
Has experience with surface characterization.
Possess the ability to work independently and in teams.
Possess good general skills within IT tools.
Has a structured approach and can handle simultaneous assignments without losing the overview.
It is important that you have good communication skills and can communicate your needs and results in a clear and convincing manner.
